Shy and K-9 Geiselle

My name is Shy and I’m a born and raised Minnesotan. I grew up in the south suburbs in a police family. After playing college hockey at the U of M, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a career path. When I chatted with my dad about it, he advised me to talk to one of his connections with St. Paul Fire. It sounded like a great job, so I jumped in with both feet. I completed my EMT certification in early 2018 and tested for the department later that year. I was hired in 2019 and have been with the department for 5 years. I absolutely love my job and have been working hard to maintain my mental health in an effort to continue to offer my best day in and day out. Outside of firefighting I own my own business as a tattoo and fine artist. I also enjoy spending time at the lake on my days off with my dog Geiselle.
