Matt and K-9 Silo

My name is Matt. I served 10 years in the Army Infantry from 2003-2013. I did 3 deployments to
Iraq in OIF 3, 5 & 7, receiving a Purple Heart in OIF 3. I am currently serving as a Firefighter and
have been on the job for 10 years now. My wife and I have been married for 18 years and have
a 16 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. We heard of Soldier’s 6 through a friend and after
losing our pup of 14 years, decided it was time to welcome a service animal into our home.
Silo is a Dutch Shepherd we found through a trainer and we are just getting to know each other.
We are excited to hone Silo’s abilities and bond as her new family! We are extremely grateful for
the opportunity that has been provided by Soldiers 6.
