Jason and K-9 Ruby

My name is Jason Oxford. When I was 17, I joined the Army and served my active-duty time in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. I finished my eight-year enlistment in the National Guard in Duluth while finishing my degree at UMD.
I have been a Minneapolis firefighter for 10 years, and am now a Fire Motor Operator.  I have also been a Bloomington Firefighter for coming up on 18 years.
I found Ruby through a breeder and picked her up when she was seven weeks old. She is a Red Fox Lab. She weighed 8 pounds when we picked her up. I found out about Soldiers 6 through a friend that’s going through the program.
Ruby is making strong connections with my family. My mom and stepdad have been a tremendous help by caring for Ruby when I’m at work.
I am looking forward to starting the training for Ruby to be a service dog and being a part of the Soldiers 6 family
