Greg and K9 Maverick
K-9 Maverick
I was a Boiler Technician for the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Flint AE-32 and I was home ported at Concord Naval Weapons Station in Concord California from 1985 thru 1989. At that time the USS Flint AE-32 provided ammunitions and fuel support for the Pacific fleet. My main duty in the engine/boiler room was to provide steam for propulsion and for the ships service turbo generators which provided electricity to run all systems and controls for the entire ship. During my tour I was honored to become part of a 400 plus year Naval Tradition of “Crossing the Line”.
After leaving the service and serving my county I then served my community for almost 21 years as volunteer fireman. My Military career provided me with trade skills that I still use today.
I’ve loved and had dogs my whole life. When I got out of the service, I’ve had nothing but golden retrievers and have found that their loyalty and devotion are immeasurable like a fellow solider having your back. Maverick is my current golden retriever who is 6 years old. I am optimist about training him with the help of Solders 6 and grateful for the opportunity.
